Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Personnel Security Specialist to support NGA's Office of Security. This individual will be required to operate in a diverse security environment.

This program can quickly adjudicate a polygraph for selected candidates with an active TS/SCI. An active TS/SCI is required in order to be considered for this role.

This position will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide support and maintenance to established PERSEC programs.
  • Support the execution of the day-to-day PERSEC & Case Initiation Team program.
  • Prepare, support, and administer PERSEC program briefings, as needed.
  • Prepare, write, and present reports/whitepapers, various forms of correspondence, as required.
  • Appropriately and accurately maintain and update databases and files with data entry in a timely manner/real time.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all telephone and/or email actions, questions, or status inquires to include checks of internal and external personnel security databases.
  • Assist in maintaining distribution lists for customers to contact PERSEC, as needed/required.
  • Bring case security issues to the attention of the government Team Leads.
  • Assist the government PERSEC team to help in developing recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide service excellence in guidance and resolution to internal and external customers' questions and inquiries in a timely manner for support to their programs.
  • Utilizes a variety of security concepts, principles and practices to analyze and recommend solutions for difficult and complex security issues.
  • Document and provide Weekly Activity Report (WAR) actions in the designated template and timeline to the Government Team Lead.
  • Collect, investigate; research, document, and forward to adjudications, all reportable information from employees and contractors within the mandated timelines (e.g., IRTPA, DNI, etc).
  • Prepare accurate and quality reports of investigation.
  • Process applicants within 14 calendar days.
  • Process employee periodic re-investigation initiations within 15 calendar days.
  • Process Phased Eligibility cases within seven calendar days of completion of polygraph (e.g., FLEX processing), as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI required.
  • Ability to obtain a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field to personnel security.
  • General knowledge of/experience in personnel security (3-6 years) in the DOD/IC.
  • A minimum of 1 year of previous Background Investigator, Personnel Security Specialist, or TS/SCI adjudicative experience.
  • Familiarity with reviewing Standard Form-85/86 and understand scoping requirements.
  • Understand and be able to analyze the security repositories (e.g., DISS, Scattered Castles, DCSA's NP2 Portal, eQIP, PIPS/CVS).

Desired:
  • Knowledge of SEADS 4, and 6 and a deep understanding of SEADS 3 and 7 and understand how to apply the regulation appropriately to each case.
  • Understand the Continuous Evaluation (CE) implementation under ODNI for IC agencies.
  • Understand the application of reciprocity to applicant cases enrolled in DOD CE with a deferred investigation.
