Position Summary:
In this position, you will be
responsible
for
l
eading the aggregate based mix design
process, establish
ing
priorities, schedul
ing
resources, complet
ing performance
testing, and e
nsuring staff are current in EH&
S, quality,
o
perational practices and
training.
You will work closely with
field representatives to prioritize and complete
designs to meet the needs of each project, internal or external.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities
:

Actively participat
e
as a member of the Innovation Team
which supports customers and R&D projects
.

Manage priorities and resources for
our
Mix Design and Performance Testing Laboratories
.
C
ommunicat
ing
design status, priorities, schedule, and lab utilization to field enginee
ring, marketing,
and upper management.

Manage equipment to maintain 100% readiness
.

Maintain superior quality standards for equipment, data analysis and reporting
.

Have a c
lear understanding of
a
safe laboratory
environment.
E
nsur
ing
all EH&S training i
s current and
a safe work environment i
s maintained as well as performing
various EH&S tasks including inspections.

Hands on knowledge of mix design and research/developmental procedures to ensure endeavors meet
performance objectives and applicable guidel
ines or specifications (AASHTO, ASTM, or State DOT).
Develop design and testing guidelines to supplement or unify individual standards, such as from
AASHTO or ASTM.

Establish and maintain calibration and preventive maintenance programs for the Mix Design
and
Performance Testing Laboratories, including active involvement in AMRL certification related activities
insuring that all programs are current.

Maintain good design and research records that others can follow and understand.

Provide annual and intermediate term goals, aligning with priorities established by upper management.

Provide direction and supervision of subordinates. Offer encouragement and feedback using
performance m
anagement processes (goal setting, consistent performance reviews, daily coaching) to
communicate and align employee performance with company goals.

Encourage field and professional development opportunities for direct reports.

Safely performing all duties
while following all applicable rules, guidelines, laws and regulations.

Other duties as assigned.

Limited travel for training may be required.
Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in C

Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, C
hemical
Engineering, or related

discipline

7 to 10 years’
lab operations experience, required.

Thorough knowledge of laboratory safety policies and procedures, chemical hazards, and other
precautions in order to promote an effective and safe workplace

Demonstrated computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
