Primary Responsibilities

Located at Grace Lake Corporate Center (GLCC) in Van Buren Twp., near Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Perception Integration Engineer will directly report to Visteon’s Head of Perception Team. Although the work location is in Van Buren Township, the Perception Integration Engineer works with a globally dispersed team. 

Typical Duties

  • Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for all perception related algorithms performed manually in a vehicle as well as automated in a simulation environment.
  • Identify, record, document well-structured, clean test reports and defect tickets. Manage, track and discuss reports and tickets with the development and project teams.
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions. This mandates the understanding of the perception code, the overall ADAS system and software architecture to a certain extent.
  • Review design documents, requirements and specifications to provide QA related feedback.
  • Perform thorough regression testing (closed-loop, open-loop) when bugs are resolved.
  • Work cross functional in a pragmatic way to achieve success as a team.
  • Ensure QA related compliance to Functional Safety (ISO 26262).


Degree Strongly Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or degree in, System Engineering, and Computer Engineering or similar.

Desired Competencies/Experience

  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
  • Hands-on experience in automated test environments.
  • Strong familiarity with QA tools and processes
  • Familiarity with development environments such as ROS, ADTF.
  • Experience being in feature teams using Agile / SCRUM methodologies.
  • MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Experience in performance, safety and/or security testing is beneficial.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English
  • Willingness and capability to travel regularly between ADAS development sites
  • Valid driving license for U.S.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with a global team that crosses a variety of cultures. Because team members reside in numerous time zones, the work schedule may require flexibility and meeting during the early morning or evening hours. 

  • Must be able to effectively work with little or no immediate supervision on several different projects at one time and meet the required deliverables on time, per specifications / standards, and on budget.
  • This role requires some (<20%) travelling
