The successful candidate will serve as the academic and clinical leader for a thriving inpatient medicine program consisting of 28 faculty members who provide services at two campuses, Childrens Health Dallas and Childrens Health Plano.
The mission of the Division is to provide excellent, high value care to hospitalized children, educating future leaders in inpatient pediatric care, and advancing the field of pediatric inpatient medicine through research and innovation.
The Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern has a long and rich history that is interwoven with the roots of Southwestern Medical School and with the development and growth of Children's Health, our primary clinical partner. The Department is structured into 17 academic divisions, consisting of approximately 300 faculty members, and several clinical multidisciplinary programs that represent the full disciplinary diversity of pediatric medicine today. We have four major practice sites: Children's Medical Center Dallas, a member of the Childrens Health system and our primary pediatric clinical partner, Parkland Health & Hospital System, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and our most recent partner Texas Health Resources. While wholly united in our missions, we take pride in our diversity, which encompasses every pediatric subspecialty and a large number of disease-centered and multidisciplinary clinical, research, and educational programs. Our remarkable growth has been and will always remain guided by the ambition of excelling in every area of our activity.
Applicants will be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level in the appropriate track. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the state of Texas and must be board certified in Pediatrics with strong clinical background and previous leadership experience.
