The Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a board certified Pediatric Gastroenterology Physician for an exciting leadership opportunity as Division Chief, Pediatric Gastroenterology. The Division Chief will serve as the academic leader for a division of 20 faculty within the Department of Pediatrics. The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology provides inpatient and outpatient services at Childrens Health - Childrens Medical Center Dallas and Childrens Medical Center Plano; outpatient services at Texas Health Dallas; and inpatient consultation services at UT Southwestern Clements University Hospital and Parkland Hospital.
The Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center has a long and rich history dating back to the incorporation of the Southwestern Medical School into the University of Texas system in 1949 and includes the longstanding relationship with Children's Health, our primary clinical partner. The Department is structured into 17 academic divisions, consisting of approximately 300 faculty members, and numerous multidisciplinary programs, representing the full spectrum of pediatric medicine today. We have five practice sites: Children's Medical Centers in Dallas and Plano, members of the Childrens Health system and our primary pediatric clinical partner; William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital and Parkland Hospital, both of which are on the UT Southwestern Medical Center campus; Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children; and our newest site, Texas Health Dallas, a part of the Texas Health Resources system. While wholly united in our missions, we take pride in our diversity, which encompasses every pediatric subspecialty and a large number of disease-centered and multidisciplinary clinical, research, and educational programs. Applicants will be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level, with or without tenure, depending upon the appropriate academic track. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the state of Texas and must be board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology with strong clinical background and previous leadership experience.
