The Nemours Cardiac Center at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE is actively recruiting a Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The candidate will join two experienced senior surgeons withthe opportunity for staged mentorship in the full spectrum of pediatric and congenital cardiac surgery including transplantation, mechanical assist devices, adult congenital surgery, and neonatal surgery.
The Nemours Cardiac Center is recognized as a leading provider of comprehensive pediatric cardiac care in the region. As an Integrated Care Unit, the Nemours Cardiac center staff includes cardiac surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, intensivists, and cardiologists as well as a Magnet dedicated nursing staff and ancillary staff focused on the care of children with cardiac disease, allowing seamless continuity of care and collaboration. The inpatient care units include a 12-bed designated CICU and 18-bed cardiac step-down unit. In addition, the Nemours Cardiac Center houses a designated cardiac operating room, state of the art cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology lab, and cardiac peri-operative recovery suite.
The Nemours Cardiac Center participates in national registries and research networks. Faculty collaborate in national organizations and multi-institutional research.

Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified following an ACGME approved Cardiac Surgery training program with preference given to candidates with sub-specialty certification in Congenital Cardiac Surgery
- Demonstrate additional capabilities or interests in the area of cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, tracheal reconstruction, etc.
- Active involvement in clinical, translational, basic, or outcomes research is highly desirable.
- The applicant will be expected to participate actively in the teaching of students, residents, and fellows.
