Key Responsibilities / Functions:

  • Support practitioners in the filing and prosecution of US, PCT, and foreign patent applications
  • Create and maintain accurate records and docketing in patent database
  • Prepare official correspondence including, but not limited to, application data sheets, declarations, powers of attorney, assignments, IDSs, responses to office actions, amendments, issue fee payments and extensions
  • Perform hands-on filing, docketing, and reporting
  • Track deadlines and provide reminders to practitioners
  • Proactively manages patent prosecution docket, ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner

  • A bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate (preferred)
  • Three or more years of U.S. patent filing and prosecution experience, with at least two years of law firm experience as a patent paralegal with in-depth knowledge of patent prosecution rules and procedures
  • Filing PCT application (a plus)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines
  • Professional, self-disciplined, efficient, and capable of working independently
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ideal candidates must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have the ability to communicate professionally
