The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking Palliative Care Physicians. The position requires an M.D. degree or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school. Satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGME accredited program is preferred, however primary training in other specialties may be considered. Candidate must be eligible for Texas medical licensure. Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or completion of a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine is required. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time position. UT Southwestern is a progressive academic medical center that includes two brand new, state-of-the- art hospitals (Clements University Hospital and Parkland Memorial Hospital) and an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The campus is part of one of the largest most successful Medicare ACO’s and is actively involved in implementing the Oncology Care Model. The multidisciplinary Palliative Care services include dedicated support staff, including APP’s, social workers, chaplains, nursing staff and pharmacy support.The responsibilities of these faculty positions include attending on the inpatient palliative care consultation and primary service, sharing in the ambulatory care practice, supervising and instructing palliative care fellows and other trainees, supervising APP’s, and participating in the clinical, educational, and research activities of the Service.
