What you will do
Under general supervision of the P3 ICAT Customer Business Director, provide primary support for the P3 Wintel, VM and SAN environments deployed in the P3 sites.
Required to work in and contribute to a collaborative IT team environment including both JCI IT and the client's IT team. Interface with customer's IT staff, project management office and site personnel to successfully support the server and VM environments. These server environments support mission critical applications that serve in a 7x24 scenario. All activities must conform to Johnson Controls standards for hardware and software.
How you will do it
Under guidance from the Customer Business Director - prioritize projects and support activities around business requirements.
Provide design, upgrade, lifecycle and support for the Wintel Server environment. Test the file server system recovery process for the JCI server environment.
Develop and maintain a plan to include the initial risk analysis and documentation for assigned systems.
Design and implement a plan to avoid loss of use of field IT hardware, infrastructure and data.
Define and support backup procedures for all servers and SANs. Ensure backup and recovery options are documented.
Respond and resolve server IT problems and system integrity issues. Coordinate resources to perform repairs, including warranty repair work.
Maintain all Windows member servers at requirednetwork operating system revision levels and configurations per Johnson Controls standards. Manage the disk resources on the file servers to provide maximum availability and user efficiency. Configure, upgrade and maintain servers and peripherals as required to attain the goal of zero down time.
Configure, maintain, upgrade and support all workstation based clinical devices deployed that are deployed in the hospital and responsibility of Johnson controls.
Participates in the change management process, performs moves, adds and changes to the server environment as required.
Manage and maintain current documentation and records of all IT-related assets including servers, SAN and software licensing. Coordination point for specification and ordering of IT related hardware and software assets.
Provide timely and accurate input to the call tracking system to contribute to the online knowledge base.
Assist in planning and forecastingyearly computer hardware and software for budgeting. Keep the plan updated throughout the year on a quarterly basis.
Assist in documenting, publishing and training Area employees on all server policies and procedures.
Leads in the planning of IT-related installation and configuration of hardware and software to successfully and efficiently support the server environment at the JCI P3 sites.
Develop innovative approaches to improving Quality Measurement and quality of support.
Engage the onsite JCI IT Team and client IT team new system and application requirements to satisfy changing needs.
What we look for
This position requires a minimum of one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years IT experience, college diploma plus seven (7) years IT experience, or Professional certification plus eight (8) years IT experience.
Proficiency in the working on and around different types of computer and electronic equipment is required. Proficiency in MS Server design and support, experience in network environment required. VM Ware experience is required.
Possesses excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Flexibility required to be able to work required off hour support requirements as needed.
Previous supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to lead a group of IT Professionals is preferred.
Ability to support both physical and virtual MS Servers. Ability to maintain and support Microsoft Active Directory. Ability to maintain and support VM servers.
Basic knowledge and ability to support a small SAN environments. SAN hardware is HP 3Par.
