The Political Risk Senior Broker will work with senior members of the Willis Financial Solutions Practice to further develop and share technical expertise. They will assume a lead client management role for a portfolio of existing accounts and a back-up role on other accounts where another team member is lead. Account responsibilities include program design, market selection, placement, negotiation, organizing the billing, and ongoing service needs. In addition, the senior broker will work with the team in the identification, organization, and follow-up of prospects and lead the sales process on some of the team opportunities. Work with marketing department and senior members of the team in the creation and organization of sales materials, policy wordings and other documents. Assist in practice projects such as political risk loss data, benchmarking, industry focus, and thought leadership articles, based on relevant advances in specialized field.

The Role

  • Engage with clients to carefully and accurately assess their risk management needs
  • Manages client engagement of anniversary process including anniversary/renewal presentations, exposure comparisons, risk analysis, and recommendations
  • Designs placement structure and negotiates strategically with markets in the Non-binding Indication process including WEM documentation
  • Creating supplemental risk reports, based on risk analysis to accompany submissions to markets
  • Manages WEM policy delivery and creation and execution of endorsements
  • Handling and monitoring of premiums and revenues/receivables to prevent policy cancellation
  • May participate in Practice budget and income related meetings
  • Engages with prospects to carefully and accurately assess their risk management needs
  • Travels to meetings and gives presentations on PRI to WTW, clients, or external audiances
  • Creation of presentations to prospects and other new marketing materials
  • Manages Non-binding indication process and negotiation with markets
  • Maintains library of information on Practice share drive
  • Manages files for each account
  • Keeps abreast of changing market conditions and news in international relations and informs Client Advocates, carriers, colleagues and/or clients of developments affecting various coverages
  • May attend events in international business or relations field and cultivate expertise with external organizations
  • Identifies the need for new products, approaches, or wordings and suggests solutions to colleagues

The Requirements

  • Possesses at minimum a Bachelor's degree in International Relations, International Economics, or a related field
  • Advanced degree encompassing finance, law, and business coursework is helpful
  • Strong knowledge of global industries and business environments
  • Service and solution delivery skills including advanced ability with Microsoft office
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the political risk field
  • Self-motivating
  • Well developed interpersonal skills
  • Preferred foreign language proficiency
  • Preferred familiarity with political risk analytical modeling
  • Prior work and life experience in emerging market countries are a plus
