Job Summary

The Oracle Business Analyst (BA) performs a critical role facilitating business process discussions, redesigning to solve inefficiencies, and laying the foundation for Oracle Applications support, upgrades, patching and enhancement planning.  The BA is the resident subject matter expert in how Oracle Applications are incorporated effectively into functional accounting processes.   The BA will interact with multiple levels of the user community and management to support, train, and align the system tools to the business requirements.


  • Provide primary triage of business issues within the Oracle E-business Suite and and tracking issues to resolution, possessing the knowledge to route issues to additional functional support, technical support, or toOracle Support as needed

  • Act as the primary liaison for Oracle Applications, and other business applications, within the business sphere of operations

  • Engage with the business community to evaluate and document complex business requirements, as well as translate into technical design specifications in order to communicate to the appropriate technical resources

  • Direct and aid the user community in the testing and validation of process or system changes

  • Create and maintain test cases for all testing cycles

  • Provide user mentoring, training, and assistance to maximize business process efficiency

  • Identify gaps and recommend business and/or system options to continually improve and to reduce transaction costs, utilizing standard functionality wherever possible

  • Manage day-to-day support tickets to resolution within the corporate framework utilizing local, off-shore, and contracted service providers

  • Provide Oracle Applications expertise in the configuration and maintenance of assigned modules

  • Maintain configuration documentation to support system audits

  • Identify user training gaps, define individual and department level training as required to close training gaps, as well as create and maintain training collateral and user guides

  • Stay up to date on required and recommended patching identified by Oracle and effectively communicate and coordinate with IT to support patch application and testing

  • In all areas, maintain reliable plans to support achievable delivery dates

  • Manage project related tasks by representing the needs of the business community and providing detailed functional and technical information to all concerned parties

  • Maintain an interface calendar in order to confirm timely and accurate interface schedules, as well as identify and resolve interface issues as they occur

  • Create and improve reporting to fit the needs of the business users utilizing Oracle or other tools to deliver accurate and timely information

  • Work with other BAs to assure end-to-end activities are in alignment


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting/Finance, Business Technology is highly preferred

Professional Qualifications

  • 8+ years of business experience in a commercial industry, rental equipment is preferred
  • 8+ years of Oracle Applications experience (11i or higher); Oracle Cloud experience is advantageous
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing tools such as BI Publisher, SQL Developer, TOAD
  • Experience with the following software packages is preferred:  Rentalman, Oracle HFM, Blackline, MS Office
