The goal of a Nurse Manager is to facilitate and deliver quality nursing care as well as to coordinate and manage the environment in which the care is delivered. The Nurse Manager assumes responsibility for the staff, resources, and patient care while directing and promoting the development of the clinical staff. Establishes and maintains the budget and support the implementation of standards of nursing/clinical practice and guidelines of care. Another priority of the Nurse
Manager is to be the Chief Retention Officer and utilize principles of service excellence to achieve goals for staff development, staff satisfaction and staff retention. The Nurse Manager must have knowledge of surgical/per-operative services and related nursing standards and be aware of the changing health care environment locally and nationwide and acceptance of the philosophy and standards of Service Excellence.
- Licensure: Current license to practice professional nursing in New Jersey. BLS and ACLS required. CNOR Certification preferred.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN degreerequired. Masters preferred.
- Experience: Three - Five years' clinical/leadership experience
