About the practice
Established in 1990 by Yvonne T. Shook, OD, PA, the practice has been serving second and third generations of patient families. Located in southeast Charlotte, the practice provides general medical optometry for the whole family including pediatrics and seniors, and specializes in dry eye treatment and specialty contact lenses. Conveniently located adjacent to the Archdale Marketplace, its easily accessible from I-77 and I-485. To help support the strong referral base and year-over-year practice growth, Dr. Shook is looking to add an additional Optometrist to the highly trained staff of three employees. As a well-respected business in the community, Dr. Yvonne T. Shook Family Eye Care is committed to preserving healthy eyesight, which is vital to a high quality of life. This tech-forward practice uses state-of-the-art vision care technology to diagnose and treat a wide array of eye diseases that includes: auto-refractors, corneal topographer, anterior segment camera with video, frequency doubling technology, Zeiss OCT, Zeiss HVF, Nidek camera, and iLux. About the opening
Dr. Yvonne T. Shook Family Eye Care is seeking an Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care, initially two days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In this role you will perform routine eye exams, contact lens fittings, glaucoma management, dry eye treatment, and post-operative care for cataracts and LASIK. The current patient flow is approximately 15 comprehensive exams daily. A candidate with strong refraction skills and comfortable providing care for a variety of ocular diseases will be a complimentary addition to the practice. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals while learning the business management and operational side of optometry and directly impact the practice’s success. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. Minimum qualifications include:
• Optometry license in the state of North Carolina
• Strong refraction skills
