Job Description

• Manage all daily activities (receiving, order fulfillment, inventory control, product returns, carrier coordination) and hourly employees in a state of the art, high volume warehouse / distribution environment.
• Ensure achievement of key performance metrics, service level goals and internal checklists.
• Attain and surpass base productivity, quality, and direct labor cost goals identifying and driving future improvements.
• Ensure adherence to all existing operational and other business processes.
• Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to staff.
• Lead operations supervisors and team leads ensuring implementation and maintenance of company standards and policies. Act as a role model in all team interactions.
• Support existing HR processes and activities related to interviewing, training, and performance appraisals of direct reports. Consistently and effectively maintain policies related to progressive discipline, absentee and vacation management, business continuity, and succession planning.
• Direct responsibility for cost control, budget maintenance, and daily operational profit & loss results including root cause analysis and resolution of variances to anticipated costs and profitability targets. Identify new revenue opportunities.
• Actively participate and as designated lead operational continuous (process) improvement projects (CIPs) reducing costs and improving efficiencies based on LEAN / Six Sigma methodologies.
• Plan and coordinate new product introductions and other special events in conjunction with the other managers.
• Manage hourly and daily productivity for work teams, providing coaching, support and disciplinary action as needed.
• Conduct regular 1:1’s with staff, reviewing their performance and development goals against actual achievement
• Adjust priorities appropriately in response to unusual circumstances
• Build and sustain a safe working environment and culture
• Other duties as assigned


• 3+ years of warehouse / distribution operations management or 5+ years of related supervision experiencerequired. High volume, E-Commerceexperiencepreferred.
• Personal attributes: Ability to work under pressure can prioritize workload accordingly. Attitude and Integrity. Performs work with drive, energy and focus.
• Extensive experience in High Volume environment (shipping 40K unit + daily)
• Extensive experience managing direct to customer orders and retail shipments, including management of retail routing guide requirements
• Forward logistics, finished goods distribution experience required
• Extensive experience within an automated, pick, pack, and ship environment
• Proven ability to maintain a high energy and passion for excellence which sets the standard for team to model
• Extensive experience with NPI and Q4 peak periods; ability to build model that supports 5X volume and staffing models
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills. English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) required.
• Proven “Can Do” attitude. Ability to meet deadlines and excel in a flexible work environment with constantly changing priorities.
• Experience implementing and maintaining business processes and ability to translate improvements into actions.
• PC literate – able to use Microsoft Office applications – essential for reporting
• Proven proficiency with numbers / math skills and maintaining budgets.
• Quality systems knowledge, LEAN / Six Sigma experience preferred; Green Belt certification a plus.
• Experience in product testing/repair is helpful
• Degree level education or qualified by experience.
