The Operations Manager will be responsible for the daily supervision of production units resulting in safe and efficient operation, while producing on quality product, in a timely cost-efficient manner. Will supervise Foremen and operators in the manufacture, handling, and storage of Food, Feed and Pharma Additives and Technical products. The job functions include operation of assigned production unit in compliance with established policies, procedures, permits and regulatory requirements. Meeting or exceeding performance standards of assigned production unit including production rate, on-stream time, and raw material efficiency. Meeting or exceeding quality specifications for manufactured products. Prioritization and resolution of manufacturing difficulties (process or mechanical). Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability and responsiveness to the customer. Control of working capital and the promotion of inventory control principles. Maintaining records pertinent to unit operations, preparing regular performance reports, communicating throughout the organization, and convening regular meetings with operating personnel. Training of assigned personnel and support of these requirements for outside contractors. Control of finished goods including satisfactory delivery to the customer. Control of period costs. Selection of new personnel, performance appraisals, and disciplinary action. Maintaining a safe and orderly workplace.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 15years experience ideally in the chemical process industry supporting engineering and production operations. Strengths in the Engineering and Chemistry Sciences and demonstrated skills with solids and bulk handling are preferred, including crystallization, drying technologies, agglomeration and/or conveying systems. Familiarity with ERP systems. Good verbal and written communication skills, a functional team orientation and strong organizational skills are required.
