Manage the operations function (Production, Strategic Sourcing, Quality Control, EHS, Maintenance, Shipping & Customer Service), through subordinate managers and supervisors to achieve the company’s annual and long-range strategic plan.
? Formulate, implement and measure strategy, policies and programs to improve competitive positions by reducing costs, improving quality and reducing lead-time.
? Champion and lead implementation of ITW’s 80/20 principles and processes and Division toolbox initiatives for manufacturing and business operations.
? Provide leadership in developing an environment that fosters worker responsibility and empowerment to fully utilize skills of all employees in contributing to strategic goals.
? Direct and report on performance against operational metrics.
? Comply with federal, state and local regulations on air and water pollutants, waste disposal and chemical releases.
? Identify and implement needed equipment and factory requirements to manufacture new products. Simplify and/or automate manufacturing processes to reduce unit costs and relieve factory bottlenecks.
? Coordinate and manage major capital projects for each facility.
? Coordinate maintenance and safety resources to ensure efficient and safe operations.
? Manage period cost within planbudget. Prepare budge forecasts and analysis as required.
? Promote, support and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality related policies and procedures.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
? BS Degree in Ops Management or Engineering plus 10 years of experience in manufacturing. Must have 5years’ experience in a leadership role. Previous experience in chemical manufacturing is a plus.
? Proven competency in understanding of and implementation of ITW’s 80/20 business processes and principles and ITW Toolbox methodologies.
? Demonstrated skills with project management tools and methodologies.
? Experience in managing all business aspects from formulations to the shipping of the product, as well as knowledge of ERP systems, GMP, regulatory requirements, EHS, quality requirements, inventory management, strategic sourcing.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively engage at all levels within the organization and external contacts.
? Demonstrated ability to influence others, negotiate outcomes, and articulate and execute action plans to Operations team internal and external customer groups.
? Strong listening and analytical skills to interpret information.
? Self-starter, with strong sense of urgency and ownership, and proven teamwork skills.
? Capable of successfully handling multiple tasks simultaneously and of quickly grasping complicated situations.
? Hands on management coupled with ability to delegate.
? Ability to set direction to optimize quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
? Ability to adapt to changing requirements and lead operation to institute continuous improvement.
