This position will serve as a member of the Wet Wipes Leadership Team at Beech Island. The operations manager will report to the Product System Leader and will manage the day-to-day operations and lead a team of 70+. A key deliverable for this role will include partnership with engineering and other support teams to drive implementation of innovation and delivery on the business strategy for the North America division of Kimberly-Clark.


This role is responsible to effectively lead business objectives for three production assets and chemical preparation area. As a member of the leadership team, the operations manager will work with project teams complied of employees from multiple disciplines. As a leader on a campus with various product systems, this role will have interaction across business sectors and opportunities for involvement in broad based business projects. Objectives typically are focused at the department and asset level for safety, quality, GMP, housekeeping, customer service, continuous improvement, productivity, cost, internal control, asset management, human resources and team capability development.


Front line employees, site and sector leadership, planning, distribution, contract manufacturers, as well as technical services/engineering/reliability teams, other Kimberly-Clark facilities, Customers, and Consumers.


  • Lead with high expectations around safety and team support.
  • Direct and ensure quality and GMP requirements are followed.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to process leaders, and asset teams.
  • Manage cost of manufacturing (i.e. operating supplies, maintenance, labor, cost savings, etc.)
  • Develop and lead the team through LEAN and OPEX methodology.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with individuals across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with planning on the production schedule, rates, and sequence to deliver customer service.
  • Use effective business communication appropriately with all stakeholders, corporate support teams, employees and external contacts.
  • Manage vendor/supplier relationships in a positive cost-effective manner.
  • Lead the development of department objectives and action plans for delivery.
  • Lead organizational change, build relationships, and drive performance.


  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements
  • Lean Six Sigma Tools and Methodology
  • Internal control procedures
  • Working knowledge of supply chain
  • Production planning and inventory processes
  • Raw material/chemical management
  • Process knowledge of manufacturing and high-speed packaging


Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or at least 8 years of experience in a leadership position in a manufacturing/industrial company.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 5 year in a leadership position managing performance of a team of direct reports, or responsibility for leading project teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience developing high performing teams using mentorship, coaching and leadership skills to create a culture of accountability.
  • Experience with leading innovation and expansion projects as well as new product launch activities.


  • Prior experience in a tissue manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in a GMP product environment
  • Experienced with LEAN Manufacturing, OPEX, and problem-solving tools/methods.
