The Operations Manager manages production to meet schedules, quality, cost and on-time delivery objectives. Reviews and compiles operations records, such as yield, scrap, re-work, cost of goods sold, etc. Manages Production Unit Leaders (PUL), Cycle Count Coordinator, and Warehouse Supervisor. This position is key to efficient and profitable manufacturing. It is also key to the successful development and introduction of new products. The Operations Manager reports to the Plant Manager.
Complies with all safety guidelines and procedures as directed by Company policy and State and Federal regulations.
Ops Manager participates in development of an annual operating budget and monitors, reduces, and controls costs
Recommends capital expenditures that improve the plant capacity and profitability
Manages manufacturing supervisors to maximize efficiency and productivity of work centers
Works within a cross functional team to introduce new products into manufacturing at an acceptable gross margin profit.
Maintains adequate staffing levels and provides technical and personal development training to aid employees in meeting their responsibilities and prepare for future advancement.
Maintains a clean and orderly facility
Communicates effectively with all functional areas of the company
Attends monthly S&OP meeting and reports on production issues, including staffing, hours worked, capacity constraints, quality issues.
Administers and enforces company policies and procedures personally and through Production Unit Leaders (PUL)
Manages intentory program through cycle count, to ensure inventory record accuracy of both raw materials and finished goods
Maintains and communicates metrics measuring Manufacturing performance, as requested
Responsible for Lean and 5S programs on production floor

The successful candidate will have:
Broad knowledge and understanding of world class manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes, systems, and costing methods.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Five plus years of supervision experience within a manufacturing facility.
Related UndergraduateDegree a plus.
Be aware of and apply ANSI/ASQC Q9001-1994 quality system standards.
