Job Description:

The Acoustic Production Manufacturing Manager is responsible for meeting the daily manufacturing goals of Harris’ Salt Lake City, UT facility. He/she will manage approximately 25 to 40 employees, while engaging in the development and implementation of operational strategies to meet cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, EHS, and continuous improvement objectives for the site. This individual works in a matrixed organization, and will be accountable for driving key initiatives to deploy Harris’ standards of Ethics and Quality, while providing Supply Chain and Operational Excellence leadership. 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Implementation and oversight of:Serve as an effective coach/mentor
    • Kanban systems
    • Mistake Proofing / Poke Yoke
    • Factory Gemba walk process
    • Business Change Management
    • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
  • Drive employee engagement through shop Gemba process
  • Maintain responsibility for succession planning, organizational and talent development
  • Hold team accountable to achieve business plans
  • Drive Lean/Quality initiatives within the Manufacturing base (labor and equipment)
  • Execute manufacturing objectives and strategies to meet completion goals while achieving results utilizing ethical and fair business practices
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize daily production goals
  • Develop a world-class operations team through staffing, training, and talent management initiatives while serving as a role model for integrity, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Identify and improve current manufacturing processes reducing labor touch and equipment processing time
  • Agent of change and proactive in implementing new processes to improve the Operations organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (technical degreepreferred, i.e. Engineering)
  • Minimum of 8years progressive operations experience
  • Experience in the following fields of Operational Excellence:Understanding ofleanprincipals around pull systems, mix/max controls, etc.
    • Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) for manufacturing
    • One Piece Flow or Pull System manufacturing flow
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
    • 5S+1 Visual Factory
    • Gemba implementation
  • Security clearance
  • Knowledge of ISO9001:2015
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and lead cross functional teams to achieve great results

 Preferred Qualifications/Skills:


  • MSDegree, MBA a plus
  • Experience leading an organization that generates $25M+ annual revenue
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Understanding of defense contracting (US FARs, DFARs, etc.)
  • Oversight of an organization of 25+ employees
  • Multi-disciplinary operationsexperiencein manufacturing, supply chain, quality, EH&S:Implementation of automation equipment in to a high mix/low volume facility
    • AS9100 environment including Quality Management Review Meetings (MQRT, QMR, etc)
    • Aerospace & Defense electronics experience, mixed model factory experience a plus
