The Manager of Operations Ready is a servant leader responsible for creating and maintaining the highest level of team engagement, client experience, and profitability for their region. They are accountable for the entire logistics portfolio of services for their client (e.g. auctions, dealers, etc.) regardless of the mode of transport - trucking, rail, local delivery, etc., inbound or outbound.

This leader will train, develop, and coach their team and establish success criteria to ensure execution and delivery based on client expectations. The Manager of Operations Ready/Central will maintain strong relationships with clients and carrier partners they serve and ensure alignment across the entire organization.

Primary Responsibilities and Functions:

Leads Operations Team

Coach, develop, and empower team members and create cohesive team environment between team members in the field and home office
Champion our LDM operating model and ensure team engagement and objectives are achieved
Establish a cadence of communication and touch points to ensure client expectations and performance metrics are clear and aligned across all team members
Establish and deliver success criteria for achieving on-time delivery and margin metrics by individual team member, based on each client's market requirements and per mode of transport
Introduce client transparency and reporting via various media (e.g. scorecards, VOC, etc.)
Partner with peers across Sales, Pricing and other Cox Automotive support teams to ensure that all aspects of their region are optimal (e.g. pricing based on market dynamics, carrier capacity and utilization, reporting and transparency, etc.)
Demonstrate business acumen and analytical skills required for managing their regional key performance indicators, goals and objectives, and profitability goals
Lead own team as well as third party logistics providers to ensure alignment with client expectations as well as serve as single-point-of-contact and accountability for all clients' logistic needs

Regional Logistics Strategy Development and Implementation

Establish client-centric metrics, and a clear path to winning
Create and maintain close partnerships with our clients and carrier partners
Point of contact for clients (e.g. Manheim Auction GM's and RVP's, dealer network, etc.) and ensure logistics service and delivery are in line with the client expectations
Effectively articulate the value of our business and services to team members, clients, and carrier partners
Introduce new and modify existing processes, policies, and procedures that put the clients and carriers at the center of daily, tactical engagement
Lead diverse team - direct, coach, empower and enrich the team; introduce ownership and accountability, and influence extended, matrixed team members
Partner closely with other leaders within Cox Automotive to align on new initiatives, expected objectives and outcomes to ensure optional resource utilization and outputs
Define, coordinate, and deliver insights on Logistics metrics and analytics


Achieve desired team member satisfaction, sales objectives, client experience and margin goals
Logistics operations and profitability: develop/implement plan to improve the following:
Process redesign, system and tool strategy and implementation, operating metrics tracking/ranking, incentive systems, partner with LDM


• High school diploma; BS/ BA degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or related discipline strongly preferred
• 7+ years automotive industry and/or logistics experience
• 5+ years leadership role
• Proven change leader
• Servant leader with proven ability to develop high performing teams
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed environments
• Demonstrated track record of assessing, developing, and empowering talent
• Demonstrated track record of business analytics insights and cost management
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others
