Description

Engility is the sole provider of the Remote Sensing (RS) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in Boulder, CO, has need for an Operations Integration Systems Engineer.  This individual will be a Systems Engineer with experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Space-Based systems with extensive knowledge and experience in space ground system architecture development, integration of technology into existing space ground systems of record and transition of concepts to operational capabilities.  Candidate will provide System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support to the Space and Missile Center (SMC) Remote Sensing (RS) Directorate’s Tools, Applications, and Processing (TAP) Laboratory in Boulder, CO and integration support to the SMC/RS Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Battlespace Awareness Center (OBAC) at Buckley AFB, CO.  Candidate should have experience with space systems, ground and space system acquisition, and systems engineering experience.  Major duties of the position include:

  • Interface with a wide range of customers and stakeholders at various levels on a daily basis to support the analysis of data exploitation opportunities, development of potential solutions, and preparation of operations transition and integration-related briefings, plans, papers, and other documentation in support of SMC/RS decision making
  • Support system engineering and integration planning for SMC/RS future ground, hardware, software, and application development
  • Analyze and decomposing a high-level strategic roadmap and integrating into actionable program plans
  • Manage technical baseline interdependencies, identifying and resolving contract change disconnects, and providing Government leadership with action plans for resolution
  • Develop, define and assess mission needs and capabilities driving future architecture solutions to more efficiently and effectively address evolving OPIR challenges
  • Identify operational and technical issues, evaluating solutions, developing action plans
  • Provide recommendations on transition, integration and operations strategies and technical implementation of future ground system and application development
  • Support certification of readiness to transition to operational capability
  • Interact with contractor and government leads to ensure that system and interface requirements are consistent with planned ground transition and data exploitation program activities
  • Coordinate and executing integration activities including hardware, software, cybersecurity and network upgrades

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. BS in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Communications Engineering (technical), or similar
  • Current TS/SCI Clearance
  • 9+ years of strong demonstrated system engineering experience with space, ground, operations and sustainment segments of a DoD program
  • Proven ability to provide technical analyses, program management insight and thought leadership to a government customer
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), project integration, schedule analysis and stakeholder processes
  • Experience developing transition to operations plans, supporting design reviews and engineering boards
  • Broad knowledge and experience in Space systems (especially at SMC), OPIR systems, ground and space system acquisition and system engineering processes
  • Demonstrated experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment
