Our Operations Finance Manager will serve as a leader supporting the Integrated Health and Social Services (IHSS) and the UnitedHealthcare Clinic accounting teams. The ideal candidate will be a generalist in finance and accounting and have experienceworking withFP&A and controllership teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the period end financialledger closings of the UnitedHealthcare’s (UHC) physician practices, and lead revenue allocation among the practices and UHC businesses
  • Work with the intersegment teams to implement and monitor the accuracy of payer capitated arrangements among myConnections, TeamMD, MedClinic, other Physician Practices and the Health Plans
  • Develop and manage vendor and invoice approval process
  • Coordinate the Travel Approval process for myConnections and TeamMD employees
  • Work with the National Medical Director to develop and manage the provider incentive pay accrual and semi-annual payout
  • Work with the controllership group to develop and manage the allocation of management fee costs down to the Physician Practice legal entities on a monthly basis
  • Develop monthly proforma myConnections/TeamMD/MedClinic market P&L’s explaining variances to forecast and budget
  • Act as first point of contact for Physician Practice finance questions
  • Manage the myConnections/TeamMD/MedClinic local Pcard activity and insuring vendors used for invoicing and Pcards are UHG approved
  • Help manage the physician practice Professional Liability insurance being carried for UHC practitioners
  • Prepare or provide controllership team off ledger Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Reconcile the claim receipt bank account and depositing any manual checks received from payers
  • Understand and educate the online/Xerox document archival process and educate others as necessary
  • Run various adhoc spending reports (Travel & Exp) for the IHSS teams
  • Roll-up total IHSS spending reports inclusive of indirect ownership such as intersegment and Clinical Health Services activity (CHS)
  • Assist the TeamMD/myConnections CFO and the IHSS/MedClinic CFO with budgets and forecasts
  • Coordinate and oversee accounting/financial related projects
  • Prepare documentation or supports teams leading external and internal audits 
  • Assist IHSS finance team and business owners with requesting, monitoring, and reporting Capital by program

  • Assist in the developing and documenting national and local Standard Operating Procedures

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years demonstrated progression in controllership reporting and analysis
  • CPA/CMA or other equivalent licensure or certification
  • Intermediate level of working knowledge of GAAP; ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and senior management to drive sound business decisionsrequired
  • Expert level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and other financial reporting tools required
  • Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data
  • Experience successfully managing and prioritizing multiple requests and achieving solutions under tight deadlines
  • CPA/CMA or other equivalent licensure or certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Hyperion Essbase/Smartview and/or PeopleSoft
  • Understanding of Physician Practice accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
