Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses. This role will be responsible for assisting with development and execution of Commercial Banking risk governance processes including risk committees, policy implementation management operations, quarterly risk-related attestations, new products, and escalation reporting.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Support establishment and maintenance of routines to support the Commercial Banking Risk Committee, including material preparation, distribution, and tracking of any action items or escalations required
  • Coordinate activities that monitor compliance with governance matters, including the accuracy of information in reports, regulatory risk related attestations, and adherence to policy
  • Develop executive-level presentations and other informational materials to be used in committees, councils, and regulatory meetings
  • Establish reporting requirements and supporting routines to provide visibility into the health of the overall risk portfolio to Commercial Banking Control and Business executives and partner with the Analytics, Reporting and Administration team to synthesize the report
  • Coordinate governance processes and supporting routines to maintain an inventory of credit products owned by Commercial Banking to support corporate and Wholesale policy requirements for any new products or business initiatives
  • Coordination of Commercial Banking's Customers' Legal Entities Risk Appetite Countries – "CLERAC" process to support corporate and Wholesale policy requirements

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
