PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Clients engage RGP for expertise in delivering large and complex projects to strengthen their business. As an experienced Operational Accounting Manager, you will have the ability to play an instrumental role in assisting clients in a variety of challenging projects in order to make a positive impact on their ability to do business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

  • Lead month-end close process, including maintaining the general ledger and sub-ledgers
  • Direct operational accounting, reconciliation and reporting 
  • Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and analyze account variances
  • Communicate and follow up with business partners to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP
  • Research technical accounting literature including interpretation of new accounting standards
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly reports as required by Client’spolicies and procedures
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements
  • Review Client’s policies and procedures to ensure SOX compliance

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • BA or BS in Business, Accounting or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 8+ years of public accounting, related consulting or industry experience preferred
  • Relevant certifications (CPA, CISA, CFE) preferred
  • Experienced with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analysis
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting experience is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills to build relationships and foster trust at all organizational levels
  • Strong client service orientation to client service, time management, and project delivery
