On-Orbit Mission Operations Engineer, Senior

Key Role

Provide systems engineering and integration (SE&I) support to a key National Security Space (NSS) client for the ascent, initial, and sustained acquisition of spacecraft. Provide the Spacecraft Program Office a broad range of technical, programmatic, planning, and execution of Launch and Early Orbit (LEO) support, including AFSCN integration with launch processes, readiness reviews, rehearsal coordination, CONOPS development, and mission planning for on–console satellite contact supports. Provide independent assessment of LEO launch team readiness. Provide ascent telemetry collection, orbital trajectory analysis, and early orbit acquisition contingency support. Deliver sustained day–to–day mission readiness for network operations following space vehicle separation and nominal AFSCN operations, following initialization activities. Influence the development of US government policy on AFSCN employment. Support the integration of user requirements into acquisition and operations activities.

Basic Qualifications: 

-7+ years of experience with satellite telemetry, tracking, and commanding 

-7+ years of experience with on–orbit satellite operations and booster launch events 

-7+ years of experience with AFSCN 

-7+ years of experience with TT&C software and AFSCN interface hardware 

-7+ years of experience with expendable launch vehicle systems

-7+ years of experience with aerospace hardware and software systems engineering life cycle, including design, development, verification and validation, integration, test, and implementation management

-7+ years of experience with technical project management 

-7+ years of experience with engineering

-TS/SCI clearance required 

-BA or BS degreerequired

Additional Qualifications: 

-Experience with briefing and writing authoritative technical documents, including reports and position papers 

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 

-Knowledge of the NSS client’s organizational structure 

-Ability to multi–task and adapt to changing priorities, procedures, and information technology tools 

-Ability to interact well with cross–functional team meetings and professional environments 

-Ability to interface with internal and external clients 

-Ability to perform analysis and assessment 

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills 

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph preferred 

-BA or BS degree in Engineering or a technical, scientific, or related field
