TD Ameritrade has launched a transformation program of its servicing platform in order to deliver an enhanced, differentiated, and efficient operating model.  Improvements will come in the form of better processes, tools, and information.  By utilizing IBM’s BPM and ODM product offering, TDA will now be implementing and governing these process transformations throughout the servicing organization.  Using an agile approach and providing proof of value along the way, this transformation will be long term and multi-phased.  Principles for guidance of this program include a business driven and customer centric focus on design decisions, continual alignment with senior leaders for ongoing sponsorship, systematic and objective program governance, a flexible execution structure, and a comprehensive approach towards adoption of services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • As an architect and lead developer: design, develop, debug, test and implement rules using ODM components, Java or XML including how the technology connects with enterprise applications
  • Ensure traceability of all rules
  • Create, follow, and share enterprise guidelines and standards
  • Represent this technology within our Architectural Review Board
  • Describe the development process of building a business rule application and the collaboration between the business and development teams
  • Set up and customize the Business Object Model (BOM) and vocabulary for rule authoring
  • Implement the Rule Business Object Model (RBO / XOM) that supports rule execution
  • Coordinate production deployments and production support
  • Orchestrate rule execution through rule flows
  • Author the rule artifacts to implement business policies
  • Debug business rule applications to ensure that the implemented business logic is error-free
  • Enable business rule management in Decision Center for business users
  • Set up and customize the testing and simulation environment for business users
  • Package and deploy rulesets to test and production environments
  • Integrate decision services for managed execution within an enterprise environment
  • Build efficient and easy-to-maintain business rule client applications
  • Test, monitor, and audit execution of decision services
  • Explain governance issues and identify the appropriate ODM features to support decision governance

 

Requirements:

  • IBM ODM Architect certification is a must
  • 5+ years of experience in IBM ODM v8.x including ownership of rules management and governance, design structure of rules repository
  • 4+ years Java development
  • Object-oriented analysis and design
  • JUnit testing
  • Ant scripting
  • Ruleset extraction and RuleApp packaging
  • Decision Validation Services (DVS)
  • RES console
  • Decision Warehouse
  • JAXB annotation
  • SOAP and JAX-WS web service implementation, RESTful service using JAX-RS
  • Rule programming: inference, rule chaining, pattern matching, working memory and agenda
  • Understanding of the different rule engine algorithms
  • Design for reuse
  • Rule extension model
  • IRL/ARL
  • JMS and MDB
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed.
