Gundersen Health System is recruiting for a full-time, therapeutically certified optometrist to serve our patients in Whitehall, Wi. This position will have an emphasis on primary care, including ocular disease diagnosis, treatment, and management, geriatrics, general and specialty contact lenses and co-management of cataract and refractive surgery patients. We provide current technology which includes EPIC electronic medical records, Telehealth capabilities, imaging and data software, autorefractor, automated visual field analyzer, digital photography, OCT, and pachymetry. Support staff team members include patient liaisons, certified ophthalmic technicians, and ABO certified opticians.Residency training and/or experience is preferred but not required. American Board of Optometry certification must be attained within three years of hire. Licensure in Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota is required. The Eye Department at Gundersen consists of 24 optometrists and 11 ophthalmologists. In addition to Whitehall, clinics are located in the following Wisconsin communities – La Crosse, Onalaska, Tomah, Sparta, Hillsboro, Adams-Friendship, Viroqua, Prairie du Chien and Richland Center. Clinics are also located in Decorah and Waukon, Iowa in addition to Winona, Minnesota. Subspecialty services include retina, glaucoma, cornea, pediatrics, oculoplastics, and refractive surgery.
Must have completed an accredited program and be eligible to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Advanced practice clinicians work under the direct supervision of a physician. Clinician staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system.
