Job Description

You'll help manage safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental issues for The New York Times (NYT), reporting directly to the Executive Director of Occupational Health and Safety. Specifically, managing accident prevention activities and programs, environmental (i.e., indoor air quality) testing and environmental reporting to government agencies, including representing NYT on safety and environmental compliance issues with government agencies across the company's office and production locations. You will also assist the Executive Director in managing all occupational health risk management programs.

Responsibilities:

  • To manage and assist department managers in developing accident prevention activities and programs.
  • To train employees on regulatory subjects such as hazard communications, lockout/tag-out, respiratory protection, as well as general safety and accident prevention subjects.
