Title: OBD Engineer
Location: Columbus, Indiana
Responsibilities: - Participate with groups in the development of strategy regarding future OBD, ARB, and global regulations
- Gaining understanding of current and future OBD requirements to ensure the validation of the infrastructure and functionality of the diagnostic.
- Participating in on-going interaction with team members and any other team regarding progress and issues in the diagnostic development process
- Includes OBD leads, as well as after treatment, air handling, and thermal/fluid science engineers
- Developing, supporting, and managing processes related to OBD for regulatory affairs, certification, and compliance. The worldwide need shall be considered in this work. This includes post processing analysis and simulation work for validation purposes.
- Participate in 3-step reviews to ensure that diagnostics are tuned to meet requirements and comply with regulations
- Training new members in the team.
- Emission and OBD Testing for Certification
- Understand the OBD and emission certification test procedures and unique cycles
- Work with VPI and Functional teams to make sure these certification requirements are known and met
- Plan and support PVE testing for diagnostics as well as Demo Cycle FTP/RMC set tests
- Calibrate DS&C owned Virtual Senors
- Data Analysis and Validation for Virtual Sensors related issues
- Provide Support for OBD
- Respond to requests for engine OBD regulation clarifications
- Support creation and updating of applicable training packages
- Support test trips (nucleus) as required
- Support current product issues if needed
- Support diagnostics labeled as 'NUD' (New/Unique/Difficult)
Qualifications: - Resource will be working with Aftertreatment, OBD Calibration and DSC(Dynamic Systems and Controls) groups
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink, Calibration Tuning, OBD Monitor Development, Validation on Test Cells
- Must have experience with analyzing OBD feature changes, design and be able to participate in OBD reviews (M4 - M8)
- Prepare Calibration Tuning Documents
- 3-4 years of experience
