Our position is a full-time Clinical Nurse Manager opportunity in the Atlanta Medical Center South Emergency department. AMC South is a Community based facility located in East Point, Georgia
The Emergency Department (ED) at Atlanta Medical Center – South Campus, located 5.6 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, is a 78,000+ visit, full service, community ED serving a diverse population of patients. The ED treats all ages and all disease conditions along with the occasional trauma. The campus holds a Primary Stroke Certification with The Joint Commission and provides Cardiac Cath Lab services 24/7 for the emergent STEMI patient.
There is an adult Behavioral Health unit on site with psychiatric evaluators who respond in the ED for assessment and placement of those patients in the acute phase of psychiatric illness. Obstetric, pediatric, and trauma patients are stabilized and transferred as needed for a higher level of care. The ED is set up to accommodate emergent patients in the Main side with 22 beds, non-emergent patients in a 10 bed Fast Track, and a Rapid Assessment Center with 7 bays accommodate all patients that are unable to be placed immediately in a room. The ED utilizes Advanced Practice Providers along with Board Certified Emergency Medicine doctors.
The nurse manager is a registered professional nurse who provides leadership and management of a specific unit(s) or service through the effective use of knowledge and skills to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention and clinical and business outcomes. The nurse manager is the standard bearer on his/her unit and holds all participants on his/her unit accountable for the delivery of care and services through effective communication; observation; and the management and measurement of specific interventions/practices and their associated outcomes. Responsibilities include clinical, financial, human and material resources deployment and associated outcomes or goals.
