Job DescriptionMAJOR FUNCTION: Responsible on a 24-hour basis for a nursing unit at one location. Serves as lead nurse for care coordination, which includes daily assignments of staff, and utilizing nursing resources, effective delivery of care to patients and execution of patient plans of care. May serve as a house supervisor as needed after completing training and competency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- MSN preferred
- At least three years of progressive experience as staff nurse or charge nurse in Behavioral Health, addiction services, correctional nursing, and/or emergency department nursing
Certification/Licensure:
- Current licensure of the State of New Jersey
- Preferred certification for PMH-BC ANCC, must obtain certification within 6 months of hire
Knowledge & Skills:
- Prefer additional preparation and expertise demonstrated in management principles and clinical nursing skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians and staff members.
- Thinking globally about problems.

- Communicates decisions with confidence.
Physical Requirements:
- Mental capacity to perform responsibilities.
- Able to walk briskly, stand and lean over.
