JOB SUMMARY

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department at Hughes Spalding. The Nurse Manager facilitates and manages ongoing department operations, including quality, service, fiscal, and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team.  Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Other key functions include:

 

  • 24/7 responsibility for department, including weekends and holidays
  • Ensuring coordination of process improvement within the department
  • Managing the environment for the delivery of care in all roles in the Emergency Department
  • Managing the ongoing process of healthcare delivery to patients and parents incorporating age related and developmental specific requirements

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Georgia licensed Registered Nurse
  • Professional nurse certification within 1 year of employment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment

EXPERIENCE*

  • 2 years of management/administration experience in a healthcare setting

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS*

  • 5 years of clinical experience
  • Advanced education in business, management, or related field
  • Experience in management in a healthcare setting
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) (check department-specific recommendation)
