Job Summary: Responsible for the inpatient Burn Unit. Assesses, plans, organizes, develops, implements, and evaluates all activities related to standards of care, human resources, professional development, operational function, marketing, and communications for their respective department(s). These activities will be performed in compliance with the mission, philosophy, and policies of the hospital. Directly supervises the staff of assigned nursing department(s) includingRNs,LPNs, Unit Clerks, and Tech staff. Should be able to perform the duties of aRegistered Nurse.
Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications
Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Indiana.
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of clinical experience, minimum of 2 years acute burn experience, minimum of 6 months or more managerial experience. Two (2) years of management experience preferred. Additional credentials in areas of responsibility desirable.
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related health care field. Willingness to obtain a Master’s Degree preferred.

Performs job requirements in compliance with the policies and procedures of the department and the hospital. Communicates effectively with individuals of age, ethnic, and disability categories. Develops professionally through attending required inservices, maintains appropriate licensure, certification and registration. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must meet the requirements of an RN in assigned area(s) in the following certifications: CPR, BCLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, EKG, CPI (Behavioral Health departments), TB certification.
