The Endoscopy/Minor Procedures Nurse Educator will demonstrate expert knowledge and skill in the specialty of GI nursing. The incumbent will identify opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of all staff and ensure annual competencies have been met. The Nurse Educator will work closely with the gastroenterologists and vendors to provide new products and in servicing as new procedures are introduced. The incumbent will have thorough knowledge of the SGNA standards and be certified in the specialty of GI (CGRN). The Nurse Educator will have a component of staffing to ensure they remain competent in the skills required of a GI nurserequired.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to inspire, transform and achieve outcomes in staff through formal/informal teaching methods. Also, educate, mentor and act as a consultant in the delivery of care that translates into excellence in knowledge, skill and leadership at the bedside. Teamwork will be key in the development of staff and particiation in the development of interdisciplinary teams for achievement of excellence in all aspects of performance and outcomes. Partnership with the Nurse Manager and nursing leadership will be optimal in ensuring a patient-focused, family-centered practice environment that achieves excellence in staff professional growth an development.
MSN required. Current RN Licensure in MA required.
Doctorate Education or Clinical Nurse Leadership preferred.
ACLS and BLS required.
Five years of experience in the specialty/designated patient population.
Leadership capabilities and skills essential.
Adult learner knowledge and expertise required.
