Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure team is building a next generation Infrastructure-as-a-Service that support the most demanding mission-critical customer requirements, operating at cloud scale to provide a secure, distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.

We are looking for strong Engineer who will partner with our engineering teams to ensure the availability of our infrastructure and networks. You'll play a direct role in troubleshooting and resolving issues, improving our visibility into fault areas, devising operational procedures, and ensuring we are always focused on our customers first.

This position will work on our evening shift to provide 24x7 coverage on our government cloud.


  • Provide first line troubleshooting, support and information gathering from internal business customers.
  • Serve as Incident manager during critical events; coordinating efforts among internal teams and to ensure prompt issue resolution, documentation and communication back to stakeholders.
  • Work with engineering to drive improvements in our internal applications, tools and processes
  • Deliver support services following standard operating procedures within SLA and directly help to evolve and improve those procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all internal and external customers.
  • Identify recurring issues and escalate appropriately for permanent resolution.


  • CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent networking experience
  • Strong experience within a Linux based environment
  • Natural aptitude for dealing with people
  • Excellent verbal & written English, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to quickly assess and address problems, escalating as necessary. Prior incident manager experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills demonstrated verbally and in writing.
  • Detail oriented and capable of working on multiple problems at once
  • Must be willing and able to work non-standard work shifts, including evenings, overnight, holidays, and weekends

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Assists with analyzing complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.

As part of a software project implementation team assists in implementing software projects by mapping business processes, producing documentation, establishing acceptance testing criteria.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis, and problem solving. Ability to travel as necessary. Prefer 2 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree.
