Role Description:

Responsible for building and maintaining a strong Sales Team that meets or exceeds the results necessary for the segment to achieve its goals and its long-term strategy. Focuses on recruiting, retaining and developing a high performance team that relentlessly executes and holds themselves accountable for results. Responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies for the Segment's sales team. Oversees the activities of the sales team and delivers on overall membership and revenue growth targets for the Segment. Contributes as a member of the Segment Management Team to the development and execution of the Segment's priorities.


· Accountable for achieving Segment business growth targets and financial objectives

· Manages the development and execution of the market strategy to achieve Segment sales plan

· Provides input to the development and execution of local market sales plans

· Ensures Sales plans promote profitable growth and a truly integrated product portfolio

· Provide sales leadership to the New Business Managers on sales opportunities and the Segment's sales process

· Works with New Business Managers to build and execute individual development action plans, coaches them in their individual development needs

· Ensures completion of all strategic sales planning

· Gathers and provides information on unique client requirements, competitive developments, and makes suggestions for improvement in process and services

· Develops and maintains strong relationships with Matrix Partners, Markets leads and other internal partners

· Develops and maintains strong relationships with key Union leaders, Consultants and others, represents the Segment at local and national events

· Completes all reporting requirements on time.


· Bachelor's degree preferred

· 10 years of Sales and Account Management experience

· Prior experience in the Taft-Hartley market preferred

· Demonstrated ability to build strong customer and market relationships required

· Ability to articulate difficult concepts in understandable language required

· Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills required

· Demonstrated collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills required

· Ability to present ideas to all levels of management required

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and internal and external relationships

· Significant travel required
