Carilion Clinic, a growing health care organization affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion Medical School, has an immediate opening for an Adult Neuropsychologist. This position is clinical in nature and primarily involves providing outpatient neuropsychological evaluations for diverse patient populations, including memory disorders, movement disorders, stroke, MS, and psychiatric conditions. Referrals to our service are received from a variety of providers, including neurologists, physiatrists, psychiatrists, geriatricians, and primary care. Interest and experience in management of TBIs of all severities is required. This would include evaluation of patients referred due to sports concussions and management of their return to play. Opportunities exist for appointment at Virginia Tech Carilion Medical School and potential in-vivo teaching of externs, medical students, and residents. Development of research programs would be welcome. The successful candidate will join two adult neuropsychologists and two part-time psychometrists in our Neurocognitive Laboratory within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation section.
Qualified applicants must have a PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an APA/CPA approved program and have completed a post-doctoral program with specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology. Preference will be given to those who are ABPP-CN certified or eligible.

Education:Ph.D., Psy.D. or D.A. (Doctor of Arts) in Psychology from an APA accredited graduate school required. Fellowship in Neuropsychology required.
Experience: Head Injury experience preferred. Position includes work managing patients with concussion, Traumatic Brain Injury, Dementia, and Memory Disorders. Necessary to obtain certification as a Certified Impact Consultant.Two years of supervised health experience as a psychologist including psychological evaluation, individual and group psychology, and at least one year experience as a neuropsychologist required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed in Virginia by the Board of Medicine as a clinical psychologist or by the Board of Psychology as a Psychologist (Clinical) required. Must have de-escalation training successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained annually going forward when working in inpatient environment.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Meets credentialing requirements. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with physicians and other health care providers. Must have a commitment to continuing education.
