The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer works with client companies in the design, installation, implementation and support of network infrastructures. This position offers diversity in clients and projects and the authority to manage client relationships with autonomy and a high-level of responsibility. Additionally, this person will work with and among a team of IT Network Consultants that are responsible for delivering a broad array of technology offerings.

This position will work as a business advisor to provide timely, high quality client service to our mid-market clientele. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills (written and oral), problem solving skills, a strong work ethic, and good client relations.

Technical Requirements: 

  • Designing IT solutions with an emphasis within Cisco on standards and best practices
  • Manage the installation of Cisco infrastructure equipment, servers, personal computers, and software at client sites
  • Hands on implementation and troubleshooting experience of a broad range of networking equipment, HP, Cisco, Juniper etc.
  • Experience with voice technologies PRI circuits, dial peers, SRST and other IOS voice gateway configuration
  • A strong understanding and practical use of routing and IP addressing (IPv4 & IPv6), sub netting, NAT, and routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
  • A strong understanding and practical use of switching to include VCP, Voice configurations and spanning tree
  • Excellent understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPsec, VRRP, HSRP, and SNMP
  • Knowledge in Layer 1 technologies
  • Familiarity with firewall configuration such as ACLs, IPsec VPNs, RADIUS, and TACACS on various equipment including ASA, Juniper, Palo Alto Firewalls and Aruba Wireless
  • Document the current and target environment with required documentation
  • Perform system administration functions for LAN/WAN, including the maintenance of network functionality and the installation, upgrade, integration and troubleshooting of network software and network devices
  • Adjust hardware and software to optimize network performance and functionality while administering network security to ensure compliance with information security standards and best practices
  • Ability to configure and manage network monitoring/alerting systems; review performance logs and monitoring system performance
  • Understanding of all components of networking and how they interact.
  • This includes layer 1, connectivity, storage, virtualization and operating systems 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum five years’ hands on experience installing and implementing network infrastructures with a focus on Cisco
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with Microsoft Exchange Server, Windows Server and Active Directory,  networked storage and virtualization 

Additional Skills

  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VCP, MCSE or MCITP a plus
  • Storage Area Network (SAN) implementation experience
  • VMWare experience
  • Exchange 2010 / 2013 experience
  • Prior consulting and project management experience
  • Experience with voice technologies PRI circuits, dial peers, SRST and other IOS voice gateway configuration
  • Operational experience with network security issues and access control mechanisms
  • Extensive of Wireless technology, with experience in protocols and authentication mechanisms (802.1x, WPA/WPA2
  • Understanding of unified communications concepts and technologies
  • Experience deploying key WLAN applications including Secure Mobility, Voice over WLAN, Location Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access
