Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Network/Hardware Engineer or Principal Network/Hardware Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Boulder, CO. Put your years of experience into a future of excellence...

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Ground Systems team. This position is for a hardware engineer with network engineering experience who will provide technical solutions to difficult hardware problems, to include assisting in project coordination, on-site installations, and engineering records updates.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching Certification or equivalent experience. Ability to obtain CCNA Routing and Switching Certification is required
  • Cisco NXOS, ASA, and Firepower software experience
  • Experience with vPC, 802.1x, HSRP, Routing, TCP sockets, NTP timing, RADIUS, and Packet Sniffing
  • Providing input to and reviewing system architecture, designing ground station environments to include: computing, storage, networking, audio video, and infrastructure components, participating in peer reviews of engineering products and artifacts, coordinating the hardware specific design with other disciplines to ensure successful system integration.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues and determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer expectations.
  • Apply business principles and practices to assist in the planning/coordination of the overall design and subsequent implementation of the design as well as monitoring the procurement, installation and configuration of the designed hardware system into operational elements and segments.
  • Provide support to team leads, design team, other hardware engineers.


Basic Qualifications for a Network/Hardware Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or no experience with a Master's degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a Passport.
  • Must have prior experience troubleshooting technical problems and issues developing solutions.
  • Must be able to travel ~25% of the time, which includes overseas travel.
  • Must be capable of performing hardware integration with minimal supervision.
  • Must have CCNA and Security+ certifications
