Network Engineering Manager at Capital Group | American Funds in Irvine, CA

As one of our Network Engineering Managers you will oversee delivery capabilities through engineering best practices. You’ll execute phases of complex network initiatives and projects from conception to day-to-day operations. You foster an environment of agile thinkers that will drive application optimization through DevOps practices like infrastructure as code, continuous integration and automated deployment.

You lead our efforts in accelerating our Network Reliability journey. You manage a team of engineers who know that the network needs to be built and run for scalability, security, automation and high availability. You will oversee the development of network products, services and experiences that support Capital Group’s business functions and positively impact millions of lives.

• You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
• You have at least 12 years of experience in multiple networking technologies (routing, switching, security, wireless, etc.)
• Your background includes a minimum of 3 years of experience with automation technologies, and have coded one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, C++, Ansible, etc.) You’re familiar with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
• You have at least 5 years of people management experience acting as a player/coach, and a passion for developing others.
• You are a technical expert with strong business insight. You are perceived as a leader of network engineering best practices.
• You have proven experience driving technology solutions, resolving complex technical problems, and cultivating innovative technology solutions.

You have extensive technology vendor management experience. You’ve led technology direction, guidance and oversight of vendor solutions and integrations
