Work Details:

  • Appliesinfrastructure expertise, skills, and knowledge effectively in the installation of fiber optic and copper cables to the required standards throughout the HQ INSCOM user community

  • Installs infrastructure cabling and components when required for new installs, upgrades, or to repair faults

  • Installs approved infrastructureswitches, routers, servers, and other core network devices at the hardware level

  • Applies new and maintains existing labels at all start, patch, and end points of the infrastructure

  • Maintains an accurate database of all infrastructure start, patch, and end points

  • Conducts internal quality control processes to verify conformance to industry and government standards for all infrastructure items

  • Conducts networkinfrastructure site surveys, planning, and design for small projects

  • Provides insight on creating a list of materials, bill of materials, estimating installation timelines, and documenting project status at all intervals

  • Within general guidelines, manages assigned tasks based upon severity, workflow, and time constraints

  • Maintains courteous rapport, friendly customer relations, and communicates with users at their level of understanding

  • Works with other IT Support, Network Engineers, and Server Administrators to resolve related technical issues as required


Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel up to 25 percent

  • High School Diploma; or GED equivalent

  • Current Active TS/SCI clearance and be able to attain SI, TK, G, and HCS access

  • Two years of hands on experience terminating fiber & copper infrastructure

  • Two years of experience of customer service or helpdesk support

  • Two years of experience with infrastructure installation or networkinfrastructure support

  • An understanding of IT infrastructuretechnologies, design, concepts, and theory

  • Ability kneel, squat, bend over, reach into tight spaces to complete work, and lift 50 pounds


  • Ability to travel 25 percent to 100 percent and able to obtain a U.S. Passport

  • Bachelors of Science in Information Technology (IT); or Bachelors in a related field

  • COMPTIA Certification (Security CE); or CISCO Certification (CCNA-Security)

  • BICSI Certification (TECH Exam; or RCDD Exam )

  • Six years of experience with infrastructure installation or networkinfrastructure support

  • Working experience with ITSM Suite - BMC Remedy Software

  • Working experience with Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM)

  • Working experience with DoD civilians, military soldiers, and government contractors

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Infrastructure Library V3 (ITIL)

  • Ability to furnish your own hand-held tools
