Network Engineer - Infrastructure Virtualization

• Designs an effective network for the Firm and for each office, including equipment, software, services and infrastructure
• Researches new architectures and technologies and then takes the lead in recommending new technologies, processes, and practices that will maintain or increase operational efficiencies to a system availability level of 99.9%
• Monitors proactively the network for problems
• Manages network problem resolution, including assisting other members of IS in resolving network related problems
• Provides expertise in all technologies used by the department
• Leads projects to upgrade the network including planning, testing, and implementation
• Leads and/or participates in peer and management reviews of projects
• Mentors less experienced co-workers
• Manages vendor relationships
• Proposes, collects and reports on Key Performance Indicators and measures of systems reliability
• Prepares and maintains network related documentation
• Follows department policies and procedures, including change management procedures, and makes recommendations on improvements to procedures
• Other duties and responsibilities as requested

Essential Job Specifications/Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Demonstrated expertise in the following: 
? Managing and troubleshooting desktop and application virtualization technologies (primarily      Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp; VMware Horizon a plus)
? Managing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere
? Managing Active Directory, including creating, managing and implementing GPOs
? Implementing, managing and troubleshooting Citrix NetScaler
• Proven experience in the following areas: 
? Managing and/or upgrading to Windows Server 2008R2/2012/2016
? Managing and implementing Microsoft Server Technologies
• Demonstrated expertise in the following areas a plus
? Scripting with VBScript and PowerShell
? Managing and troubleshooting Cisco UCS
• Proven advanced technical skills, including network architecture
• Understanding of LAN and WAN protocols, name resolution and infrastructure routing and switching
• Understanding of the interaction between the LAN and desktop operating systems and applications
• Ability to understand interrelated issues and the impact of technological changes on workflow and processes
• Demonstrated intermediate project management skills, including the ability to adequately manage assigned projects and reportproject progress and status
• Proven communication and documentation skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical personnel
• Excellent knowledge Data Center design, operations, and procedures
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
• Position is in a critical needs area and may have occasional circumstances to work extended hours and/or weekends with little or no notice
• Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a mentor for other positions
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role.

• B.S. in Computer Science, a similar degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum seven (7) years network operations experience in a large LAN-WAN environment
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience administering Windows server operating systems in a large organization
• Extensive knowledge or certifications of operating systems and protocols
