The Network Engineer role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the network systems that support core functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, deploying, supporting and optimizing all network systems. The Network Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, project management and problem solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing all LAN\WAN and firewall services across 35+ locations including internationally

Implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment

Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages

Extensive knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco Routers, Meraki, Juniper Routers, Cisco ASA and FirePower, Palo Alto Firewalls, DMZ, Wireless, ISE, Collaboration, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Center and zScaler

Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Opmanager

Knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony, AnyConnect, Telepresence, Meraki, Prime, Dual-factor authentication methodologies, Azure, AWS, Hyperconverged infrastructure, UCS fabric interconnects and IOMs

Knowledge of, but not required, Cisco UCS server platform environment and management, HPE Simplivity Hyperconverged infrastructure, IMC central, UCS Manager\Director, EMC and Netapp Storage

Preferred experience with DMVPN, application and bandwidth optimization, BGP, EIGRP, QOS

WAN connectivity in regards to MPLS Networks, site-to-site VPN, Point-to-point 10GB infrastructure, site-to-site circuit redundancy, active\active data center connectivity

IP address management, Internal\External DNS management, public IP address space configuration

Troubleshoot requests regarding network connectivity and performance issues including working with vendors to isolate and resolve tier 4 issues

Maximize network performance via monitoring, troubleshoot network problems and outages, schedule upgrades via change control and maintenance windows

Test, evaluate and propose recommendations on next practice methodologies surrounding emerging technologies that would benefit the firm

Ability to mentor other engineers as well as members of other IT teams

Excellent oral and written presentation and documentation skills

Provide Tier 3 support to support desk when appropriate

Can document any working environment leveraging applicable tools to produce a consumable end product (Visio/QRG/as-built/user-guide)

Understands the existing technical environment and overall architecture

Ability to identify & execute appropriate escalation steps for problem resolution

Ability to manage task(s) (initiate and complete independently) and projects to completion

Continually demonstrates effective & clear communication with all tiers of IT

Ability to coordinate, drive, and facilitate meetings & presentations

Weekend on-call coverage

Flexible within reasonable accessibility and travel between offices

Qualifications and Qualities

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

CCNA, CCNP preferred

Minimum 4 years working in Systems\Network Engineer capacity.
