Job Description

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for the Warren County, TN facility. The Network Engineer will report to the Information Technology Manager and will be a critical member of the IT Team within the Warren manufacturing facility. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing and deploying network solutions, setting network standards, and supporting the Warren Plant. The ideal candidate must be able to move, add, and make changes to networkinfrastructure. The Network Engineer must also assist Technology Analysts with advanced desktop troubleshooting and advanced desktop upgrades.

The Warren County Plant is the flagship tire manufacturing facility within Bridgestone Americas, Inc. Warren County produces truck and bus radial tires and operates on a 24/7 basis. The selected candidate will be required to periodically support activities during non-standard business hours.


Responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and manage LAN and wireless network environments
  • Utilize available tools to forecast utilization and modify the environment for the efficient use of bandwidth resources
  • Respond to incidents, issues, or questions reported by the manufacturing organization
  • Interface with the Enterprise IT organization as required to effectively support the requirements of the manufacturing group including addressing service-level, uptime and availability requirements
  • Support the Warren plant in testing, planning, problem management/resolution, and deployment of storage and backup platforms
  • Demonstrate a strong customer service orientation and manage projects and workloads with minimal supervision
  • Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with the Computer Integrated Manufacturing Development and Infrastructure teams and other technology teammates
  • Adhere to technology roadmaps governed by strategic direction, business requirements, as well as resourcing and financial constraints
  • Evaluate emerging technologies against business and strategic needs
  • Provide after-hours support for the manufacturing facility should issues or failures occur that impact production
  • Provide support for the day to day active directory, telephone system, Windows server (building and troubleshooting), video security system and LAN


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5+ years of professional IT work experience, preferably within a large organization
  • Knowledge of Cisco network hardware and/or prior experiencesupporting Cisco technology
  • Ability to understand the company's business needs involving manufacturing storage and backup platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems within converged network equipment
  • Switch Configuration knowledge and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff as well as manufacturing management
  • Business acumen along with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with a history of creating innovative solutions
