As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will create, secure, and manage 21st Century ground, vehicle, and orbital networks for human spaceflight. Using the latest technologies, you will build systems that will become the foundation of a company that is doing things for which there is no blueprint. We seek network engineers who are passionate about space and possess a strong desire to serve on a team that is the backbone of the company. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


  • Produce and manage highly reliable, multi-segment Ethernet networks that span multiple sites, possibly across the globe, supporting sub-orbital missions
  • Troubleshoot and manage QoS, OSPF routing, PIM routing (multicast routing), access control lists, VLAN access maps, and 1588v2 (precision timing protocol) on all mission networks
  • Establish network specifications and requirements by conferring with avionics hardware and software engineers
  • Verification of requirements and specifications against selected network hardware through bench testing and hardware in the loop labs
  • Research the application of technologies, such as NAT/PAT, develop integration analysis and present to various pathfinding stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain configuration control of all mission networks
  • Maintain inventory of all network devices on all mission networks
  • Develop and maintain all documentation for all mission networks
  • Develop and maintain analysis tools for recording and analysis of raw network traffic on all mission networks
  • Secure all mission networks by deploying and maintaining firewalls at interconnects to the corporate networks
  • Develop and configure the tunneling of vehicle telemetry from various ground stations and mission networks through VPN and multicast routing



  • Travel as needed to support launch operations, maintenance, or new network deployments
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information technology, networking or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience as a practicing network administrator or network engineer
  • Proficient in both Windows and Linux
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team of highly skilled software engineers and IT systems administrators
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder)


  • Background in one or more of the following: Satellite/Telecommunications, Aviation/Aerospace, Mission/Ground Control Centers, Operational Environments, and/or Safety Critical Networks
  • Experience with wireless Ethernet bridges
  • Experience with fault tolerant, fail-operational network designs
  • CCNP or CCIE certification
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems and collaboration tools (JIRA, Trac, SVN, etc.)
  • Understanding or training of formal systems engineering, including requirements modeling, analysis, and verification
  • Familiarity with deterministic Ethernet applications and technologies, such as Time-Triggered Ethernet (AS6802), ARINC 664/AFDX, EtherCAT, Industrial Ethernet
  • 8+ years' of networkarchitecture and development experience
