Job Description for Advertising Purposes     Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Business Relationship Management, the iBRM of Network is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:  
 

Responsibilities:


 The activities noted below provide a list of the responsibilities held by the iBRM - Network.  The company will expect the candidate to assume additional responsibilities, as business needs dictate.

    Participates as the lead Networking subject matter expert in the development of solutions in support of new business and application expansion as well as applications migration from on-pre to the cloud
    Research, analyze, trade-off, conduct proof-of-concept and recommend critical networking and cloud solutions to assure scalability, extensibility, robustness and security
    Keep current on emerging/new technologies through educational opportunities, research, professional affiliations and personal networking. Build relationships with external experts in the field.
    Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose complex network problems in a large-scale environment
    Keep senior technical management informed by preparing reports on system performance and problems
    Provide overall direction network and telecom system performance and enhancements
    Provide technical expertise in analyzing, diagnosing and resolving problems in support of routing/switching, wireless, MPLS and VoIP
    Capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network, performance and availability
    Proactively research and evaluate tools and technologies as appropriate to the network environment while developing solution to increase better performance and lower the total cost of ownership
    Oversee, develop and maintain documentation for the implementation and support procedures of existing systems and new technologies in the network
    Responsible for emergency off hours’ network support as needed including on-call duties
    Diagnose network problems and outages using network analysis technologies, netflow statistics, system logs, and other current trouble shooting and data collectors
    Assists in the planning and design of IP voice network and PBX systems.
    Take an active role as a Project Leader / Manager for special enterprise-wide assignments. Coach and mentor junior technical staff
    Be a focal point for Business customers for network and cloud related initiatives. Manage relationships with Business customers while working on such initiatives
    Promote Business customers interests within Security and Infrastructure teams in PTC IT organization


Preferred Skills and Experience:

    CCIE written or equivalent
    Thorough knowledge of IP communications, virtualization, public cloud (AWS, Azure) and data center industry solutions
    Strong knowledge of Client/Server Architectures, High Availability and 3-Tier Systems
    Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks at the same time
    Demonstrated leadership role with network infrastructure
    Large-scale network design skills
    In-depth knowledge of Cisco VoIP and Video technologies
    Expert with the following technologies:

    Routing Protocols- OSPF, BGP, EIGRP
    WAN technologies- MPLS, DSL, DS3
    Security technologies – Checkpoint and Juniper Firewalls, Cisco ISE
    Switching & Routing – Nexus 7k/5k/2k, ASR routers, Catalyst
    Network and Compute Virtualization technologies-  VRF, VDC, VMWare
    Other – HSRP, Spanning Tree, QoS, DNS, DHCP, Cisco Prime, Fiber zoning, TACACS+ & AAA,  Cisco WLCs, NetScaler load-balancing

    Strong communication, organization, and management skills

    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment

    Ability to collaborate easily and effectively with peers, customers, management, and other team members.
    Ability to analyze problems quickly and accurately and adopt effective courses of action

    Ability to prepare budgets and cost estimates
    Solid documentation experience with Visio, Word and Excel

    Experience with IT Service Management processes (e.g. - configuration, change, incident mgmt.)

    Experience supporting large, complex, production environments

    Excellent Organizational skills

 
Education/Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and at least 10 years network  administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
    5+ years of operational experience in a data center capacity designing and supporting systems with 24x7 availabilitycepost
