Currently seeking experienced Engineers to support PMA209's Navigation Team.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversee the design of integrated aircraft systems to support Required Navigation Performance Area Navigation (RNP RNAV) and Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums (RVSM).
Develop and give presentations on the subjects of navigation, global satellite navigation systems, aircraft integration and testing.
Conduct testing for risk reduction and for a performance score in a laboratory environment.
Review RNP RNAV and RVSM designs, determine compliance and provide recommendations on designs.
Provide Navigation engineering SME for CNS/ATM requirements. Support efforts including integrity requirements for RNP RNAV system and Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) Requirements Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
BS degree in Computer Science, Aeronautics, Math or Engineering discipline is required.
Must have a Secret security clearance.
At least 8 years of experience in an engineering position is required.
Have a good understanding of the Global Positioning System and its application to aircraft navigation.
Have experience with developing test documents and procedures and execution of tests on aircrafts navigation systems and Weapons replaceable assemblies (WRA).
Be familiar with modern aircraft avionics designs and software design for navigation systems.
The candidate knowledge should including systems incorporating various computing environments such as military mission computers (MC), commercial off the shelf Flight Management Systems (FMS) and Computer Display Units (CDU).
Avionics Systems Engineer, Pilot, Air Traffic Controller, Terminal Instrument Procedure developer, working knowledge of NAVAIR Functional Requirements Documents for RNP RNAV and RVSM.
Aeronautical database expertise.
Knowledge of DO-178, DO-200A, DO-201A and DO-254.
