Job Description

The American Lung Association has a great opportunity for a National Director, Advocacy to join our incredible team in the Washington, DC Office. Working as a member of the Advocacy and Public Policy Team, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, through research, education and advocacy.

In this role, you will be responsible for directing, developing, managing and implementing lung health advocacy strategies. Represents the American Lung Association before Congress and federal regulatory agencies and develops advocacy materials. Provides technical assistance and consultation to coalition partners and field staff.

About American Lung Association

The American Lung Association is a voluntary health organization whose mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through education, advocacy and research. The organization was founded in 1904 to fight tuberculosis as the National Association for the Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis by Edward Livingston Trudeau, Robert Hall Babcock, Henry Martyn Hall, Lawrence Flick, and S. Adolphus Knopf. Earlier in 1892, Flick had founded the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Tuberculosis, the worlds first society dedicated to the prevention of TB.
