The Role You Will Play: National Business Development Manager

  • Responsible for driving sales growth on a national level for Elwood Staffing across the U.S.

Strategic Customer Engagement & Planning

  • Strategize and develop new relationships in targeted industries and functions
  • Drive strategic dialogues to identify customer’s business objectives, staffing requirement, and challenges
  • Build customer’s confidence in Elwood Staffing’s abilities by understanding and responding to their current anticipated needs, and tailor a staffing offering to match these requirements
  • Drive the development of customer presentations and business proposals, ensuring that there is a common understanding of service expectations and solutions, and effectively articulate the customer’s value in using Elwood Staffing’s services

Relationship & Opportunity Development

  • Build a strong pipeline of new/unexplored opportunities and achieve targeted new business wins
  • Identify & develop effective relationships with key contacts within targeted customer organizations in respective vertical, to ensure maximum leverage for Elwood Staffing’s interests
  • Maintain pipeline of opportunities within the vertical to achieve targeted new business wins
  • Network with decision makers and influencers within the vertical
  • Identify forums, conferences, and platforms to promote the product with the aim to generate new leads

Preparing, Winning, & Implementing the Deal

  • Present the solution to potential customers, demonstrating clear business & solution fit
  • Actively drive commercial negotiations and close deal
  • Liaise with legal teams from both the customer and Elwood Staffing to ensure legal obligations are adhered to and contractual documentation are in place prior to start of service
  • Collaborate with Elwood Staffing Executive Committee as necessary to align on activities and appropriate executive engagement
  • Oversee the implementation, customer onboarding, and user adoption process

Program Management and Reporting

  • Review revenue performance for the specific vertical with the Senior Vice President and manage the overall penetration of the vertical
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly team performance reporting for senior management
  • Understand and continuously assess competitive offerings in the market; use such market intelligence to drive the strategic direction of the organization
  • Acquire feedback from customers on service and delivery to ensure Elwood Staffing’s objectives are met


Background Profile: National Business Development Manager

·        Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s is preferred

·        3-5 years of experience in service delivery sales/business development

·        Strong “hunter” mentality and capabilities to identify, qualify, and close new national account opportunities

·        Relevant experience in sales/business development on a regional or national level

·        Significant overnight travel is expected
