National Account Manager - West Coast

Summary: Our client is over a billion dollars in size and is a global leader in the development of natural ingredients for the food, beverage, dietary supplements and agricultural industry. This innovative company has a presence in over 30 countries. They pride themselves on developing and rewarding their employees and value their family-like culture. We have been retained us to find an experienced National Account Manager for our client's Natural Colors Division! This position will manage major direct accounts and is primarily responsible for the sale of food and beverage industry color products within an assigned territory. They are responsible for increasing profitable sales by developing current and prospect accounts into commercial sales. Responsible for developing multi-level contacts with key customers and supporting new product development efforts by collaborating withinternal customer service, technical, marketing, operations and product management to deliver on customer expectations.

Location: This is a remote position. This role can be based in CA, OR, WA, ID, NV or AZ.


  • Meets or exceeds sales budget targets on a year-to-year basis
  • Secures existing business from regular customers and finds new business from prospective customers
  • Negotiates contracts and other legal documents involving in-depth product, industry, pricing and competitive information
  • Formulates and recommends an in-depth account strategy for assigned territory based on customer needs and requirements and carries out as approved
  • Generate sales leads and opportunities within assigned territory, as well as following up on leads to qualify prospects and convert prospects into customer


  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience
  • Experience in value-add ingredient sales (calling on food & beverage manufacturers)
  • Must have technical skills to know the right questions to ask of customers and connect our products to customer needs
  • Must have a passion for the food industry
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of working time
